'One Time 4 your
Mind!'
Ok...so let's get right into this :)

The song as a whole is nice and all , but the chorus (“One time 4 your mind, one time…”) makes me pretty much just want to raise a glass of (apple) juice…,sing out loud and dance along to the tune.
Although, this may not be my favourite song by Nas *I'm a big 90’s fan btw*… the general message I take away from the song is to just cause a 'CELEBRATION' for myself. This being in relation to all that I have learnt, experienced and accomplished over the many years of my life - of which I believe causes a toast for a celebration.

If you really think about it ... it can be quite interesting (and scary) to see how our minds can be both a safe and horrible place all at the same time. For our minds really do hold a lot of power , as well as have the ability to do incredible things such as shape our thoughts, perceptions, actions and so much more.( *As mentioned in my ‘The seeds we plant vs the seeds we ought to…’ blog post*).
With this understanding … it is very important to remember to take care of our mind(s) and notice when to take a break - before it's too late or even worse before everything goes into shut down mode ( because I mean who wants that...)
Honestly speaking ...I do believe that I have come a long way, and I need to recognise this more often times than I actually do. This is not me trying to be big headed or narcissistic ( trust me because there is so much more to that...) but it has taken me a while to notice this within myself and I am glad I have now.

*Also, I’m sure that once you recognise this and celebrate yourself too … you will feel much more better for it*.
As Mental health issues are on the rise and as more and more people suffer in silence , as well as are receiving clinical diagnoses' ... I hope that if you are going through a hard time, hard season or even a hard day… that you have someone to talk to. I can only imagine how hard it may be to bear and deal with all this hurt, pain and trauma all on your own… so feel free to reach out to me via email, so that we can have a chat *remaining confidentiality of course* :) .
Lastly, in the hope of keeping this short and sweet....overall the song reminds me to ' loosen up' giving myself a 'pat on the back' in regards to all of the battles I have overcome, and didn’t even think I could face. Although, at the time it may have appeared 'too big' to conquer … I am proud to have done just what I thought I couldn’t do ( and I am assured you can do the same too).

Superficially , it may appear to be ' just another catchy 90's song' but it acts as a reminder for me to 'celebrate' my 'mind' ... because I sure have had to fight a lot of battles up in there x
